Health care system in India

In 2001, the total per capita expenditure on health at the average exchange rate (US$) in India was 30. The total expenditure on health as a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) was 6.1%.117 India has a per capita expenditure on health which is lower than many other countries in Asia (Table 14), but its health expenditure as a percentage of GDP is one of the highest in Asia (Table 15).
