There is no information currently available on any national or professional palliative care organisations in Kazakhstan. However, Valeriy Viktorovich Smola is hopeful that a national association can soon be developed:

‘Currently, we as Pavlodar hospice representatives and our Almaty colleagues are discussing establishing the Association of the Hospices of Kazakhstan. The constitutive conference is planned for summer 2005, but the issue of its financing still remains open.’¹⁶
