There is no formal programme of palliative care training. The PFS has run occasional day seminars for doctors and nurses, a component of which includes psychosocial support for breast cancer patients. Oncologists travel to international conferences and seminars for training. The Middle East Cancer Consortium convenes conferences and seminars for training in cancer registry and other aspects of cancer diagnosis and treatment, including the conference on palliative care in February, 2004 at Larnaca.
