In spite of the overall number of palliative care services in Poland, they are disproportionately distributed throughout the country. Better coverage is achieved in central (Warsaw, Bydgoszcz and Lublin) western (Poznan and Gdansk) and eastern regions (Krakow, Katowice and Wroclow). Coverage in rural areas is sparse.
