Some palliative care seminars have been organised through the OSI foundation in Tajikistan,12 and a number of experts/specialists have attended education and training on palliative care in Poland and Romania. In 2003-2004 two books Cancer pain relief and palliative care in children and Cancer pain relief and palliative care were translated from English into Russian and Tajik by OSI-Tajikistan and distributed throughout the country to governmental and medical institutions and libraries of Medical Universities. Surayo Mirzoeva suggests that if a Centre for Palliative Care is developed in Tajikistan, it should be based at the Tajik Institute of Post Graduate Preparations or the Republican Clinical Center of Oncology, and focus on the creation of curricula and the training of health professionals in palliative care.13
