Mother of Mercy Hospice. The hospice services 8 villages, the closest being half a kilometre away and the furthest about 25 kilometres from the hospice. Although there are government clinics in the area, this is the only residential facility for the care of the critically ill and dying. The total population of the catchment area is unknown, but a 2002 census estimated the population of one of the 8 compounds as 20 000 with 63% of the population under 13 years old.
Jon Hospice. This service covers greater Lusaka with a population of 1.3 million. The 5 neighbouring townships (population 500 000) are well served by faith based HBC teams whose referrals to the hospice constitute the majority of patients.
Ranchhod House. The hospice services the whole of greater Kabwe with its many townships. The population is estimated at 300 000.
Our Lady’s Hospice. Patients are drawn from the surrounding 3 large compounds comprising many sections. The population is officially estimated at 100 000 but considered by the hospice to be closer to 250 000.
Cicetekelo Hospice ( Ndola Hospice). This hospice serves both urban and rural Ndola and is one of only two hospice on the Copperbelt (the other being Ranchhod House, Kabwe.).
