Island Hospice is a charity that depends increasingly on foreign donors for financial support. Services to patients and their families are free, although a small amount of income is recovered from medical aid societies if patients subscribe to private medical schemes.
Lubancho House is funded by Catholic Relief Services.
Mashambanzou Care Trust is supported by NORAD, Danida, US Embassy, Plan International, Beit Trust, Terre des Hommes, Canadian Public Health Authority, Dutch Reformed Church and the European Union.
Other palliative care organisations usually obtain funds from international AIDS-related donors or church bodies.
