Anne Grinyer
Anne's academic discipline is sociology, in particular the Sociology of Scientific Knowledge. However, she has over the years researched mainly in medical and health related areas, and has published on topics such as drug licensing, AIDS, risk management and sickness absence. She has become increasingly interested in the ethical dimensions of research particularly the ethical issues relating to health research and has also published on this topic.
Anne has recently completed the manuscript for a book entitled Young People Living with Cancer: Implications for Policy and Practice, it will be published by Open University Press in March 2007. The book is based on in-depth interviews with young adults being treated for or in recovery from cancer and seeks to understand the experience from their perspective so that medical care, services and support can be organised and delivered in an age appropriate way.
